Cascasi and the PT52
We got a great Air B&B with a view of the harbor and walking distance to everything. The biggest challenge was the 3 flights of marble staircase to get to the apartment. What do you do if you want a view? Climb!
Traveling from Lisbon to Cascais was simple, convenient and cheap. The place reminded us of Santa Barbara about 20 years ago, quite and on the coast.
The first couple of days were overcast and rainy so we decided to go touring the country side. We went to a village called Sintra and visited the gardens. Fantastic! The place had many gardens and castles to explore so we picked one, Quinta do Relogio.
The Initiation Well was the highlight. We circled many flights down to the bottom of the Well.
We reached the bottom and renewed our vows not to kill each other in the next 25 years, and to love and hold....
There is a beautiful mosaic at the bottom.
It rained on and off all day long, but the gardens were beautiful.
Finished the day off with a beer and bus ride home. Public transportation is great.
The weather was looking up so we caught a ride on Eric's chase boat the next day. The race was exciting and close at all turns.
The best part was that at the end of the race we were able to get a ride on Phoenix! What a rush! I got to drive!
The race that they finished was there best finish and everyone was happy. The class is very competitive and close so no one is ever out of the game. This was the best, I loved it! Thank you Eric!!!
We finished the week at Cascasi with a walk along the boardwalk.
We had a lovely time and can not wait to crash Eric's next race.
