Amsterdam, Anything Goes!

Passing the Frog as we ferry to Amsterdam Marina.

Tip for travellers!
Now my periwinkle dress which sometimes drags on the ground is not the best dress to where when traveling , escalators are known to eat them. Also no jewels while traveling, faster through security and no bling to steal.

We were just arriving in Amsterdam from Skiphol Airport by train and we were in a car that someone thought everyone enjoyed rap with every other word being the “F” word. Put me in a real happy state. So now we go to get off the train, crowd the platform, jam on to the escalator only to be stuck next to the guy who is rapping the “F” word. I looked at him and asked him simply “would you like it standing up or sitting down” with my ‘I am feed up with you look’ . He couldn’t escape or walk away, we were on an escalator . Awkward moment, I loved it!

Plane, train, tram and ferry and we made it to Gin Tonix. Not sure how I would ever tell anyone how to find us! The Bunq ferry was awesome, don’t know whether I need to take it back to the boat and use it to stop from sinking or give it to grandma for her to feed me through the “bunq hole”!

Dad was in heaven, the ferry pulled up next to a floating pancake houseboat! All you can eat while afloat. We went back to check it out and it was gone;(

Finally arrived and back to the boathouse with the bathrooms to die for;) Beautiful view of Amsterdam, butt naked , in a bubble bath tub. Died and went to heaven! The windows can be tinted or not, flash them or not ! How cool is that!

Took a well deserved nap and then went out on the town. Jazz concert at the Jazz Club under the Amsterdam Theatre. Great music by Robin Nolan. Challenged the crowd to tell Yee Haw on cue to win a CD. Could not resist that , stood up danced in a circle with an imaginary lariat over my head yelling Yee Haw! I won! Yee Haw!

Spent the next morning at Rembrandt Square, one of my favorites. The Nightwatch is amazing.

Had a lovely sail on Markermeer to Hoorn. Loads of seaweed was a mess. A very cute old fishing village with all the extras, old ships, new ships, classic village square and plenty of beer. The town was named after Capt. Hoorn who discovered Cape Hoorn.

Beautiful sail back to Amsterdam with the asymmetrical up all the way. Anchored behind the lighthouse and had a quick swim.

Kirk checking the anchor.

Back under the bridge and through the locks and we returned to Amsterdam.

Quick stop at the shoe shop and made Geneil a very happy camper. Shoes for the barn, the house  and dress up shoes.

Walked through the tunnel of "Delft" it went on forever.

A trip to Amsterdam would not be complete without running into the crazies!

One last stop at the New Market and picked up the most delicious apricots and sesame seed cheese,  at the cheese marriage counselor , long story not going into it now. "Yes Dear"

Then off to Skiphol and fly back to the liquid sunshine.
                                                                              Vaarwel!
                                                                  Vaarwel
